After visiting the beautiful city of Lisbon inPortugal I'm off to the exciting city of Barcelona, Spain. I will leave Lisbon via Vueling Airlines and land in the Barcelona Airport (BCN) after 1 hour and 45 minutes of flight time. This flight will cost $262 and I will be covering 785 miles.
Barcelona has been described as a passionate and lively city. Barcelona has around 6,000,000 visitors a year, making it the most famous tourist destination in Spain. It is on the Mediterranean coast and offers nice beaches, mountains and forests.
I'll be visiting this beautiful city for 1 night and 2 days. I will be staying at the Hotel Gran Ronda Barcelona for one night which will cost be a total of $140.

During my first day in Barcelona, I will be doing a day trip to Montserrat Royal Basilica. This church is well known and is an absolute must for all tourists to see. With large sculptures and arches, the archetectiural design is breathtaking. The wall designs explain the history of Montserrat and depict shrines and basilicas. The Churches gothic look and black and white marble floor atrium is another thing that makes it such an attraction. Lastly, Black Madonna, a very famous sculpture sits at the back of the Church and is a must see. The tour guide will help me understand the history as I enjoy the spectacular views from the Montserrat mountains.
During day two, I will visit Las Ramblas Street, Barcelona's most famous walking street. It is a very nice street to take a nice walk down and enjoy all the shops, restaurants and entertainment. It is so popular that a famous Spanish poet even said, "It is the only street in the world which I wish would never end." At night, after Las Ramblas, I will go to the Magic Fountain Show. The beautiful fountain was built in 1929 and has been having amazing shows of water, light and music ever since. There is about 2.5 million visitors per year.

Off To Europe!

Second Continent

After my great time in North America, I will be of to Europe and my first stop will be in Lisbon, Portugal. I will leave Dallas, Texas and take a flight with US Airways and land in Lisbon, Portugal. The flight will take 12 hours and 15 minutes with one stop in Charlotte, Carolina for 2 hours and 30 minutes. The total distance I'll cover is 4,734 miles.
Lisbon is a popular tourists destination all year round as it's culture comes alive through it's buildings and historic landmarks. I'll be staying in Lisbon for 2 days and 1 night. I'll stay in the 4.7 star SOFITEL Lisbon hotel for a total cost of $192.

During my first day in Lisbon I will go to the beautiful Praia Da Falesia, a beach miles long with soft sand and beautiful blue water edged with red and white cliffs. There is also a restaurant and bar located on the beach to please all visitors. After a long flight to Lisbon, I thought that a nice, relaxing day on the beach would be much needed.

During my second day in Lisbon I wanted to see some things that contribute in historic value to the city. I will go visit the Belem Tower, St. George's Castle and lastly, Jeronimo's Monastery. The Belem Tower was built in 1515 to protect the enterance to Lisbon's harbour and is a monument to Portugal's Age of Discovery. St. George's Castle dates far back as the 6th century and can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. It was once royal residence, was then captured by a King and then dedicated to the patron saint of England. Jeronimo's Monastery was built in 1502 and is a symbol of Portugal's wealth and power. It is an absolutely beautiful sight to see and attracts many tourists when they visit Lisbon.

My third stop will be in Dallas, Texas.

To get from Los Angeles to Dallas I will be renting a car. I'll be using Alamo Car Rentals and taking an economy sized car for $459. I have the car rental for two days and it only takes around 20 hours to complete the drive. I could drive 10 hours each day covering a total of 2,311 km. I will be staying in Dallas for 2 days, 1 night. For the one night I will stay in a 4 star hotel; Sheraton Suites Market Center Dallas for $99. Some things that have made Dallas so popular and well known are the Texas State Fair and their many sports teams. Of course everyone knows of the Dallas Cheerleaders as well. Dallas is a large, diverse place with blue skies and open spaces. It is home to over 6.7 million people and is home to the original Six Flags amusement park.

During my first day in this huge city I will go visit the Dallas World Aquarium. With six exhibits and hundreds of animals and different species, there is tons to see and admire. I will also go to the House of Blues which is a concert hall and restaurant. Live music is always happening as they serve you their Southern inspired cuisine. Made for a max capacity of 2,500 people there are always lots of friends to have a good time with here.
For my second day in Dallas I decided that I would just spend the day at the famous Six Flags Over Texas. It is a huge 212-acre theme park with over 45 rides plus a water park. I thought that this would be a great and fun way to end off my time in North America before I travel over to the next continent I will be visiting; Europe.

Sunny Los Angeles

The second place I will be visiting is Los Angeles, California.

To get from Vancouver to Los Angeles, I will be taking a flight using Air Canada which will take 2 hours and 50 minutes. The one way flight will cost only $137. The distance I will be covering is 2,055 kilometres. I'll be staying in Los Angeles for 2 days and 1 night. During my visit, I'll be staying at the 3 star, Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel for $165 during the night.

Los Angeles was not always such a huge popular city known as the home of tons and tons of celebrities. Hollywood is the central region of L.A known as the motion picture industry of the United States. When Hollywood merged with the city of Los Angeles in 1910, it quickly dominated the world of the film industry.

To start off my first day in Los Angeles, I thought I'd go straight into Hollywood. A hike to the Hollywood sign would be an up close and awesome experience. I will also go visit the Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theatre. The Walk of Fame has over 200 celebrity names with either their hand or feet imprints beside their star. Grauman's Chinese Theatre is a famous attraction and is a great place to catch a movie as it is right behind the Walk of Fame. During my second day in this sunny city, I thought I'd go visit the beach. Venice Beach is well known and offers lots to do. The long 2.5 km boardwalk is good for bikers, rollerbladers, skateboarders or just to take a walk. There are tons of entertainers on the beach showing off all their talents to amuse the tourists and hopefully earn a little bit of cash. You can also workout with tons of bodybuilders that spend their day there to gain muscles under the warm sunshine. There are lots of little shops to buy souvenirs or get a temporary tattoo and food places to enjoy. Venice Beach is also great for surfing as it offers nice waves throughout the day.

First Destination

The Beautiful Vancouver

I have now arrived in the city of Vancouver known as one of the most beautiful places in the world.
This city offers mountains, sparkling ocean waters, rainforests and incredicble scenery.

During my two night, three day stay in Vancouver, I will first visit the famous Stanley Park. This park was designated a national historic site of Canada and offers tourist and locals a long list of things to see and do. The mountains, beaches, trails, historical landmarks such as totem poles, local wildlife and more all mark this park such a huge attraction.

The next place I will be visiting is the Capilano Suspension Bridge. This bridge attracts over 800,000 visitors a year. It is 460 feet long and 230 feet high above the Capilano River! It was built in 1889, then completely rebuilt in 1956 and Is suspended only between old Douglas Fir trees.

On my last day in Vancouver, I'll be going to a well known place that attracts over 1.2 million visitors per year; Grouse Mountain. I will take the famous Grouse Mountain Skyride. The gondola climbs 3,700 feet above sea level and the view is guaranteed to leave you speechless. You'll be up above the mountain peeks looking down at the Pacific Ocean, islands and the city of Vancouver from a whole new angle.

During my stay in this wonderful city I'll be resting my head at night in the 4 star Georgian Court Hotel.
Per night the cost of this hotel is $225, which will bring my total to $450.
