Off To Europe!

Second Continent

After my great time in North America, I will be of to Europe and my first stop will be in Lisbon, Portugal. I will leave Dallas, Texas and take a flight with US Airways and land in Lisbon, Portugal. The flight will take 12 hours and 15 minutes with one stop in Charlotte, Carolina for 2 hours and 30 minutes. The total distance I'll cover is 4,734 miles.
Lisbon is a popular tourists destination all year round as it's culture comes alive through it's buildings and historic landmarks. I'll be staying in Lisbon for 2 days and 1 night. I'll stay in the 4.7 star SOFITEL Lisbon hotel for a total cost of $192.

During my first day in Lisbon I will go to the beautiful Praia Da Falesia, a beach miles long with soft sand and beautiful blue water edged with red and white cliffs. There is also a restaurant and bar located on the beach to please all visitors. After a long flight to Lisbon, I thought that a nice, relaxing day on the beach would be much needed.

During my second day in Lisbon I wanted to see some things that contribute in historic value to the city. I will go visit the Belem Tower, St. George's Castle and lastly, Jeronimo's Monastery. The Belem Tower was built in 1515 to protect the enterance to Lisbon's harbour and is a monument to Portugal's Age of Discovery. St. George's Castle dates far back as the 6th century and can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. It was once royal residence, was then captured by a King and then dedicated to the patron saint of England. Jeronimo's Monastery was built in 1502 and is a symbol of Portugal's wealth and power. It is an absolutely beautiful sight to see and attracts many tourists when they visit Lisbon.
